DARK MATTER, 2020 - now

mixed media

I began creating this series (“Dark Matter”) in 2020 to cope with my depression and anxiety. Because of quarantine and climate anxiety, I played with found materials to declutter my apartment without disposing of anything. I obsessively intertwined and tied for hundreds of hours, channeling this anxious energy into the material, which evolved to escape the confines of the stretcher. These sculptures embody a chaotic inner world, turbulent growth, and our need for deep connection yet wild escapism while emulating natural forms. It symbolizes the human experience where chaotic energy, unlikely objects, and trash take on a new life. For more about each artwork, visit my Partial Gallery profile.
